Day Nine

It’s been a while. I don’t even know how many days have passed since my last entry, but it’s been a bit crazy here. A rival group found our wooded base and tried to come to steal our supplies when they thought we weren’t home, but we managed to kill them. It sounds so harsh that we murdered them but that was the way the world worked now. It was a kill or be killed situation and we had to kill to protect the medicine that I literally couldn’t live without. Sam’s bite from that human a while ago had gotten infected, almost lost Sam, but we found antibiotics that weren’t expired, and that saved Sam. It was a close call though. I was worried because if we lost Sam Doc would have to do all the runs by himself and that was horrifying to think about; especially if Sam reanimated. Another strange turn of events is that we found a child wandering the streets crying. They were attracting zombies to us, but we couldn’t let a child be killed so Sam and Doc made the decision to rescue he...

Day Eight

My body has been in so much pain these last few days. I ran out of my Lupus medication three days ago, Doc said we would be doing a supply run to look for more in the nearby town. That’s a long walk that I can’t make so I’m staying here at the base and protecting it, but I don’t know how much good I’ll be writhing in pain every time I try to lay down to get into shooting position with my rifle or every time I lift my arms for my crossbow. Doc trusts I can do it, so I hope he’s right, I don’t want anything to happen to our hard work although no one has even tried to attack us yet or even realize we’re here so he may be right. I’ll update again once something happens. It took them a week of searching and walking, but they found the medicine I needed in a local vet clinic. Doc said medicine should be the same so take it as I always do. I don’t think I’ll be taking it as often as I’m supposed to so I can make it stretch a bit longer. Sam got bit by a human on the run. Not a zombie. N...

Day Seven

It’s been a while since I updated my journal. Sorry about that to anyone who may read this in the future. There’s been a lot going on around here since I last updated so this may be a long one. The world-ending zombie apocalypse has now been here for three months. Truthfully, I didn’t think I’d survive these three months and probably wouldn’t have had Sam and Doc not agreed to help me. We’d left the last camp we set up on the roof of that one place last month because too many zombies had started to gather around, and supplies were getting further and further away which meant more risk for us. We made a group decision to move closer to the city, but we still stayed on the outskirts near the wooded parts so fewer zombies would be around. Sam decided that we should build a treehouse and that’s what we did. It took a long time since we had to scavenge for the materials, find books that may have the knowledge we needed, and of course, find the tools that we were gonna need to make this happ...

Day Five and Six

I’m going to stop adding times until I can find some semblance of power all I know currently is that it’s around 10 or 11am. I heard a survivor screaming and lots of gunfire, when I looked over my edge, I saw the juggernaut had killed Cathy from my old enclave. In fact, it had killed a few people from my group before they finally took it down, only remaining two were Sam and Doc. Doc was the one that convinced me to do these journals and he was the one that snuck me food, so I knew I had to save him and Sam protected me when no one else would. I used some debris I found on the roof to distract the zombies, Doc saw me first and they both got to the ladder just before a horde walked through. Now we were all sitting around my torn-up tent and eating some snacks to get us through. I’m sure they’ll have questions and I’m glad to give answers, but right now I think everyone wants to rest.   Roughly 4 days later    ...

Day Four

6:30am?        I can see the sunrise from my hiding spot of an old brick house. I ran for what I assume was four hours with minimal breaks in between, but an oncoming horde forced me into this house. Thankfully, I went unnoticed, but the moans and the groans of the zombies as they shambled past made me wonder if I’d made a mistake. I can’t put a time on this that’s accurate, so take my time with a grain of salt. I no longer have a working clock to look at since the last battery on my phone died while I was running. I think I’ve taken a long enough break; the horde has passed, and I don’t want a straggler to stumble in here and find my hiding spot. It wouldn’t be good if they did.   Noon-ish?           I found a high rooftop that has a large enough ledge to keep me from being noticed. There was an old ratty tent up here from what looks like a survivor who left to find food or other supplies but never ...

Day Three

7:21am             It only took four days after the death of the hunter for morale to drop to an all-time low. Heh, All Time Low, that used to be a band until they each took a zombie bite to the arms on live TV to show that we were all freaking out over nothing. It took two hours for them to slowly die and turn. Fights were beginning to break out and those fights often resulted in the waste of building supplies or ammo. No one knew when the next food run would be the last person barely made it back and even then, the spoils were little to none. It was nowhere near enough food for them to survive on. I kept to myself and did not let on that I had a stash of food in my room, I believe they are beginning to suspect since I have not been acting like they have. They even tried looking through my room, but the stash is hidden well enough that they will never find it.   9:49am They have begun to harass me in my room when they ...

Day Two

3:00pm The day we all dreaded had finally arrived. Our food sources were nearly depleted, and people were starting to become angry at one another over the littlest problem. I was yelled at by a new survivor, Cathy, because I didn’t come out of my room often. Of course, I didn’t come out of my room often, I had a slew health conditions and being out there where they all fought was not going to help me calm down. I needed to be away from people for my own sanity, but I do help when they request it. Although since she’d only been here a day, she hadn’t learned that about me. She didn’t bother trying to find out why I stay alone all the time before she was screaming in my face. I also decided to start writing down the times in my journal. Helps me focus.   6:45pm           The hunter decided to go out at night to hunt some prey. He thinks that the zombies, as we’ve come to realize after seeing someone die and come back, won’t be as ac...
