Day Eight

My body has been in so much pain these last few days. I ran out of my Lupus medication three days ago, Doc said we would be doing a supply run to look for more in the nearby town. That’s a long walk that I can’t make so I’m staying here at the base and protecting it, but I don’t know how much good I’ll be writhing in pain every time I try to lay down to get into shooting position with my rifle or every time I lift my arms for my crossbow. Doc trusts I can do it, so I hope he’s right, I don’t want anything to happen to our hard work although no one has even tried to attack us yet or even realize we’re here so he may be right. I’ll update again once something happens.

It took them a week of searching and walking, but they found the medicine I needed in a local vet clinic. Doc said medicine should be the same so take it as I always do. I don’t think I’ll be taking it as often as I’m supposed to so I can make it stretch a bit longer. Sam got bit by a human on the run. Not a zombie. Not an infected. A human. Apparently, they were fighting over food and he was bitten. I feel guilty because the run would’ve never been needed yet had I not been sick. Anyways, the medicine seems to be helping the flair up. I hope I can continue to find it or that’s what is going to be the death of me. Not much else to really write about right now, life is peaceful at the moment aside from the bite and needing medication.

Oh! I know, I found another special infected. It had giant puss sacks on its head that burned the ground around it when I shot it through the head, we hadn’t had anything like that before meaning the virus is changing and adapting new strategies. How long before it overpowers us all? Hopefully not for a while.
