Day Five and Six

I’m going to stop adding times until I can find some semblance of power all I know currently is that it’s around 10 or 11am. I heard a survivor screaming and lots of gunfire, when I looked over my edge, I saw the juggernaut had killed Cathy from my old enclave. In fact, it had killed a few people from my group before they finally took it down, only remaining two were Sam and Doc. Doc was the one that convinced me to do these journals and he was the one that snuck me food, so I knew I had to save him and Sam protected me when no one else would. I used some debris I found on the roof to distract the zombies, Doc saw me first and they both got to the ladder just before a horde walked through. Now we were all sitting around my torn-up tent and eating some snacks to get us through. I’m sure they’ll have questions and I’m glad to give answers, but right now I think everyone wants to rest.   Roughly 4 days later    ...

Day Four

6:30am?        I can see the sunrise from my hiding spot of an old brick house. I ran for what I assume was four hours with minimal breaks in between, but an oncoming horde forced me into this house. Thankfully, I went unnoticed, but the moans and the groans of the zombies as they shambled past made me wonder if I’d made a mistake. I can’t put a time on this that’s accurate, so take my time with a grain of salt. I no longer have a working clock to look at since the last battery on my phone died while I was running. I think I’ve taken a long enough break; the horde has passed, and I don’t want a straggler to stumble in here and find my hiding spot. It wouldn’t be good if they did.   Noon-ish?           I found a high rooftop that has a large enough ledge to keep me from being noticed. There was an old ratty tent up here from what looks like a survivor who left to find food or other supplies but never ...

Day Three

7:21am             It only took four days after the death of the hunter for morale to drop to an all-time low. Heh, All Time Low, that used to be a band until they each took a zombie bite to the arms on live TV to show that we were all freaking out over nothing. It took two hours for them to slowly die and turn. Fights were beginning to break out and those fights often resulted in the waste of building supplies or ammo. No one knew when the next food run would be the last person barely made it back and even then, the spoils were little to none. It was nowhere near enough food for them to survive on. I kept to myself and did not let on that I had a stash of food in my room, I believe they are beginning to suspect since I have not been acting like they have. They even tried looking through my room, but the stash is hidden well enough that they will never find it.   9:49am They have begun to harass me in my room when they ...

Day Two

3:00pm The day we all dreaded had finally arrived. Our food sources were nearly depleted, and people were starting to become angry at one another over the littlest problem. I was yelled at by a new survivor, Cathy, because I didn’t come out of my room often. Of course, I didn’t come out of my room often, I had a slew health conditions and being out there where they all fought was not going to help me calm down. I needed to be away from people for my own sanity, but I do help when they request it. Although since she’d only been here a day, she hadn’t learned that about me. She didn’t bother trying to find out why I stay alone all the time before she was screaming in my face. I also decided to start writing down the times in my journal. Helps me focus.   6:45pm           The hunter decided to go out at night to hunt some prey. He thinks that the zombies, as we’ve come to realize after seeing someone die and come back, won’t be as ac...

Day One

I’ve decided to start journaling about my daily experiences. The doctor at my enclave said it would help me sleep better if I did, what would help me sleep better was not having the constant banging of mutant freaks in my ear. Alas, this is the way that life works now. It’s only been three days since the world officially became a ghost town, mostly dead wandering at night, it took a while to become adjusted to the sounds of gunfire and screaming, but somehow, I did. While fleeing from my neighbor’s teeth after another mutant had bitten him, I had found the abandoned restaurant we now called our home. It was soon after that other people came here to find refuge as well. The first two days had been great, plenty of leftover food and water and with the power still on we were able to do most things we needed to. Morale was good, our spirits were high, then we heard the sound of the small power plant up north explode, it wiped out two neighborhoods with it, the perfect ground for more zom...
