Day Two
3:00pm
The day we all dreaded had finally arrived. Our food sources were nearly depleted, and people were starting to become angry at one another over the littlest problem. I was yelled at by a new survivor, Cathy, because I didn’t come out of my room often. Of course, I didn’t come out of my room often, I had a slew health conditions and being out there where they all fought was not going to help me calm down. I needed to be away from people for my own sanity, but I do help when they request it. Although since she’d only been here a day, she hadn’t learned that about me. She didn’t bother trying to find out why I stay alone all the time before she was screaming in my face. I also decided to start writing down the times in my journal. Helps me focus.
6:45pm
The hunter decided to go out at night to hunt some prey. He thinks that the zombies, as we’ve come to realize after seeing someone die and come back, won’t be as active during the night. I think he’s wrong, I think he’s still thinking as if they’re humans and that is going to get him killed. I know from school that the best predators always stalk at night to remain unseen by their prey, but what do I know?
7:15pm
As I knew would happen the hunter came running back to the base. Unfortunately, he also brought his friends with him, a nice size horde of them. I had stepped out into the main room as they were discussing letting the hunter back in, when they noticed I had come in they made me decide as a neutral party. I sided with keeping him locked out, it wasn’t a fun decision to make, but I could see the bite marks. He would’ve turned in our base and we would have had to flee out into the horde. He should have listened. Now we’re down another person and the other’s morale has also gone down further. I glance at my secret stash in the panel of my bedroom wall, it wasn’t going to be long before I would need to leave. No one listens.
